FARO Website Inspector Privacy Policy
Information about how FARO Website Inspector uses browser permissions and handles data during a website audit.
Last updated: 9 August 2026Overview
FARO Website Inspector is a Chrome extension designed to analyse the webpage the user chooses to inspect and display SEO, responsive design and technical website checks. The extension performs this analysis for its single purpose: providing website auditing and diagnostic results.
Extension single purpose
The single purpose of FARO Website Inspector is to analyse the active webpage when the user voluntarily starts an inspection and present information about SEO, heading structure, responsive design, usability-related accessibility and technical page implementation.
Chrome permissions used
Remote code
FARO Website Inspector does not use remote code. All executable JavaScript required by the extension is included within the extension package. The extension does not download or execute JavaScript or WebAssembly from external servers.
Data and website content analysed
To perform an audit, the extension may read information from the active webpage such as the page title, meta description, headings, links, images, HTML attributes, element dimensions, computed styles and other technical information required to generate the results.
Data collection and transmission
Audit results and analysed website content are processed locally in the browser. FARO Website Inspector does not transmit audit results, inspected page content, browsing history or other personal information to Faro Digital Media.
Data storage
FARO Website Inspector does not store inspected website content or user audit results on Faro Digital Media servers.
Sale, transfer and other uses
Faro Digital Media does not sell or transfer user data to third parties. The extension does not use or transfer data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose, for creditworthiness or lending, for behavioural advertising, or for other purposes unrelated to website auditing.
Third-party services
The extension does not rely on external services to execute its page-analysis code. Websites and external links visited by the user remain subject to the privacy policies of those websites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if FARO Website Inspector functionality changes or if updates are required for legal or Chrome Web Store compliance. The latest revision date will be shown on this page.
